Joe is a British born Performer, Poet and emerging theatre maker living in the Gaeltacht of Muscrai Co. Cork. His work to date is dedicated to depicting the complex lives of the contemporary working class. With a background in theatre and spoken word, Joe’s energetic performance style and heart wrenching, lyrical tales come together offering beauty in the cracks of the so called “broken” side of society.
Joe has performed and taken artistic residency all over the UK and Ireland and has been supported and endorsed by theatres and organisations such as the Roundhouse, The Tobacco Factory theatre, Radio 1xtra, LND Punk Festival, most recently presenting a work in progress titled “Never Too Much” at the Everyman Theatre (Cork).
Most notably, he received a year-long residency in spoken word at the Roundhouse LND, where he performed with and was nurtured by the likes of Kai Tempest, George the Poet, Phil Jupitus and Scroobius Pip. This opportunity offered him the chance to cut his teeth as a writer and refine his performance style, becoming a champion of working class storytelling.
